It must be Steven Spielberg Day because we are getting three Spielberg Blu-Rays released today. Also, a Brad Pitt movie, and Billy Crystal’s return to comedy. And in time for the start of baseball season we have one of the best baseball movies.
Lincoln- One of the best movies of last year is finally coming out on Blu-Ray. This is Spielberg at the top of his game with one of the greatest actors of our generation.
Killing Them Softly – The Brad Pitt action movie that kind of fizzled at the box office but did get some critical acclaim.
Parental Guidance – Billy Crystal made his long awaited return to comedy in this popular family movie that came out on Christmas.
The Collection – A sequel to the 2009 horror movie The Collector. From what I have heard not very good.
A Royal Affair – Nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards a period piece about a queen who falls in love with her physician and starts a revolution.
Jurassic Park- This is Spielberg at the top his blockbuster game. Getting rereleased in time for the special 3D version coming to theatres. My bet would be to wait a few months and buy the inevitable 3D edition.
The Lost World: Jurassic park – Spielberg not quite at the top of his game in the Jurassic Park Sequel. A good movie but not as much fun as the original.
Jurassic Park III – And Spielberg didn’t even bother making the third one.
The Sandlot 20th Anniversary Edition – Just in time for opening day one of the best Baseball movies ever.
The Terminator Anthology- All 4 Terminator movies in one box set.
